Training: Custody Visitation training prepares mediators to mediate co-parenting of Family Court referred cases to a CDRC. Mediators will explore the unique circumstances around mediating with adults who ae making plans for caring for the children in their lives. Participants in the training will discuss how to adapt their current mediation skills to this unique community. This training is approved by the NYS Unified Court System under CDRC guidelines and Part 146.

Trainer: Sarah Rudgers-Tysz is the Executive Director of Mediation Matters, the CDRC in the Capital Region. She has a passion for working with families and is equally passionate about working with mediators moving into this type of mediation.

Format: The new world of remote mediation and remote work has brought us this unique way of delivering this training. While on-line learning has some challenges, this format has opened doors to opportunities that we never had before. This training will happen over Zoom through which participants will meet with the trainer, in break-out rooms with coaches, and in small groups with one another.

At the conclusion of these sessions, participants will be assigned work to complete before the next session.

*If you took the Basic Mediation Training with WRMC of CLUSTER or currently belong to our roster of volunteers, this training is free of charge. If you completed your Basic Mediation Training elsewhere and you do not currently belong to our roster of community mediators, the cost for this training will be $250.00.
