CLUSTER staff is at the forefront of empowering youth in Mount Vernon.

After a recent violent incident in Mount Vernon, CLUSTER has been asked to further lend its expertise in Dispute Resolution and Restorative Justice to the Wellness Division of the Mount Vernon Police Department. As a partner, CLUSTER will further its commitment to community wellness and the development of programs to serve our young people.

  • Restorative Conferences: When a harm has occurred, each person involved and those closest to them, has an opportunity to speak in turn about what occurred and its impact, and to discuss what can be done to repair the harm as much as possible.
  • Conflict Mediation: Two people in conflict with one another work toward resolution of the dispute with the help of a mediator.
  • Conflict Coaching: An individual meets privately with a coach who offers non-judgmental support, helping the person arrive at a clear understanding of goals and strategies for working through a conflict.
