Westchester & Rockland Mediation Centers
The Westchester and Rockland Mediation Centers operate under the auspices of the Unified Court System, Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Court Improvement Programs. We provide Mediation Services and related Trainings in a variety of areas including Community Dispute Resolution, Divorce, Custody and Visitation, Workplace, Restorative Justice, School Peer Mediation, Child Permanency Mediation, Special Education Mediation, and Eviction Prevention. With offices in Yonkers and Nyack we assist over 3,000 individuals annually, by mediating, conciliating or referring them to more appropriate services.
Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process that can be used to prevent further escalation of conflict, as an alternative to court proceedings, or simply to build understanding and improve relationships. Successful mediations, whether through court or self referred, most often result in agreements that are mutually acceptable and sustainable. Click here for more about Understanding Mediation.
All services of the Westchester and Rockland Mediation Center are provided either free of charge or based on a sliding scale. Donations are always welcomed, as we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
