Mental Health Residential Services
The goal of CLUSTER’s Mental Health Residential Services program is to assist each client to attain and maintain stable permanent housing and become productive members of the community. We work closely with other treatment providers to offer a full range of psychiatric, socialization and vocational services that meet the needs of our residents.
The Congregate Treatment Programs are located in Yonkers and provide transitional residential care for mentally ill adults. CLUSTER maintains home-like facilities where residents can become integrated into the community. Caseworkers and support staff assist residents in gaining the skills necessary for independent living. These programs are licensed by the NYS Office of Mental Health.
Leanna Goerlich Residence
The Goerlich Residence is a supervised rehabilitative –oriented residential program serving 12 residents with severe and persistent mental illness. Twenty-four hour on-site staffing is provided. Staff provide rehabilitative services to aid the clients in developing the skills necessary to live independently in the community. Some of these skills include: daily living skills, medication management, symptom management, rehabilitation counseling, coordination of health services, and budgeting.
The Goodbody Residence is a supervised rehabilitative –oriented residential program serving 15 residents. Twenty-four hour on-site staffing is provided. The design of the Goodbody Residence is similar to that of The Goerlich Residence. Clients with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and an addictive disorder are served in this program. Clients are also given additional supports to aid in their recovery from addiction. A full-time substance abuse counselor is on staff.
Treatment Apartment Program
These supportive apartments are scattered throughout Yonkers and serve 17 residents. This program allows residents to experience community living and receive needed support in an independent setting. Staff is available to clients 24 hours a day and visit the apartments daily to provide on-going rehabilitative services.
Studio, one bedroom or shared apartments are available in Yonkers and Southern Westchester in the Supported Housing Program. Apartments meet Section 8 housing standards and are considered permanent housing. Residents pay 30% of their income towards rent. Staff act as a liaison between landlord and resident and between residents and their support system.
Crisis Respite Program
A crisis respite bed is available at the Goodbody Residence. Clients in need of additional supports to help in managing a temporary upsurge in psychiatric symptoms may access
the crisis bed through the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health.
